19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized Medvedev secured his maiden title for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid period, winning just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in specific - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.

Presently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.

It is the player's maiden title since the Italian tournament and initial on a hard surface from spring of that year.

The win also means Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to win a title is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his previous six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament in the past months.

The player's retrieving approach and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted some to question if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.

But the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

The champion fought back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging opponent, taking four of the last five exchanges to go ahead.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his initial professional title, gained dominance to force a final set.

The opponent defended four early break points in a close deciding set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Suitably, the winner earned victory with a shot at the net, with his opponent failing to control a shot after a lengthy match.
